Job Description
Ocean customer service/ Operation Identify, organize and coordinate customer shipping requirements Accurately, timely and efficiently prepare documents for ocean export shipments; and import documents for distribution to Brokerage Operations and/or customers’ Brokers Accurately and timely prepare invoices; and all required AS-400 database entries Effectively coordinate pick up and delivery orders with steamship, trucking, rail and warehouse companies Provide professional, high quality customer service by direct customer contact Communicate effectively with internal departments, other regional branches and offices, and all external contacts Effectively interface and consult with the Branch Licensed Broker and Customs Brokerage Operations staff to obtain technical guidance for regulatory compliance purposes as required by agencies including the FMC, EAR and U.S. Customs. General business support functions as assigned Minimum Requirements: · Minimum High school graduate, GED or relevant equivalent experience · 2+ years’ freight-forwarding industry experience in ocean export or import · Experience in FCL / LCL Ocean Cargo logistics and documentation · Experience with steamship lines' Bill of Lading and INCO terms · Experience with Ocean accounting · Basic to Intermediate PC skills – MS Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, AS400 knowledge · Good to Excellent verbal and written communication skills · Internal Candidates: Satisfactory Performance Review history with “3” or better Summary Rating for past two years
